VICTOR VARNADO

Expect the unexpected from Director/Comedian/Actor/Writer Victor Varnado (born May 15, 1969 in Gary, Indiana). Prevailing over the unique adversity of being born a legally blind African American albino, Varnado has succeeded in becoming a nationally known and recognized actor/comedian.
Best known for his roles in End of Days (1999) and The Adventures of Pluto Nash (2002), Varnado quickly became well known and respected throughout the film community allowing him to branch into other fields of cinematic interest leading him to direct and act in recent film Twisted Fortune (2007) starring Charlie Murphy and Carole Alt and featuring Dave Attell.
Varnado’s path to achievement began after moving from hometown Huntsville, Alabama to Minneapolis where he worked with local improvisational troupes Comedy Sportz MN, The Bad Mamma Jammas and several regional theater companies. Varnado landed his first role in the Big River Productions film Full Moon Rising (1996) and later appeared in Giraffe Films' Kids Adventures in Oz, which motivated his move to New York to pursue a career in acting.
Varnado’s first break came when he landed a role in Elton John's music video "Recovering Your Soul". Shortly after, he starred in cult sensation Harmony Korine’s (Kids writer/Gummo director) Julien Donkey-Boy (1999) with Trainspotting’s Ewen Bremner, Werner Herzog and Chloe Sevigny. This well received role was followed by a myriad of prominent parts in several films including Universal's feature film End of Days(1999) starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and The Adventures of Pluto Nash where he costarred opposite Eddie Murphy.
Tackling all forms of media, Varnado is currently working as the head writer/voice director/featured voice for a new interactive comedic video game for Sony Playstation 3; hosting/producing the popular New York City First Sundays Comedy Film Festival which has already gained national attention and has had its films picked up by Comedy Central, HBO and Cinemax; producing/writing a new HBO sketch comedy show for Russell Simmons’ company and has just received publication of an article in Cracked magazine.
His writing capability has allotted him the chance to write a new superhero movie alongside comic book legend Stan Lee and co-write the action adventure film Razor produced by the makers of The Crow.
Although his interests have recently become rather diverse, Varnado has never chosen to stray from acting. He has supporting roles in two upcoming feature films (Mercy Man and What we did on our Holidays), which are currently in postproduction, and another supporting role in the aforementioned Twisted Fortune.
Varnado’s acting ability has recently crossed over to television and has landed him a starring role as gender ambiguous Internet villain Kazaa in one of Adult Swim’s (the nightly Cartoon Network programming block for adults) first up-and-coming live action/animation comedies: Gemberling.
Given his stand up performances on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Comedy Central and HBO; his role in Chicago City Limits; his awards for both Most Valuable Performer in the 2001 Montreal Just For Laughs Improv Championship and the 2002 Comedy Central Laugh Riots National Stand-Up Competition, it is safe to say that the cutting edge comedian has never let go of his comedy roots and continues to perform stand up on a regular basis.
