Someone recently asked this question so I'm posting my answer here: Have you ever seen those moving spots in your eyes that seem to be in your eye but not on your eye? They may look like one speck or tiny fiber that you see in certain light in one or both your eyes? Well those are called "floaters" or "eye floaters" and they are indeed inside the eye. They are bits of cells or fiber that float around in the aqueous humor or liquid inside the eye. They are quite common. However, not everyone has them and they should be a concern if this is a new occurence in your vision. If this is so, there may be the beginnings of a tear in the retina of the affected eye--so get to your physician right away!
