PINE CONE FEEDERS Any one who has been in the Brownie Scouts or Cub Scouts has probably made this one. It can get rather nessy so spread the newspaper around! You Will Need:- a pine cone
- yarn or string
peanut butter- bird seed (the type you grow birds from ;D (just kidding and seeing if you're paying attention)
- Newspaper
- plastic spoons
- a bowl large enough to roll a pine cone in
Here's What You Do:- Tie string or yarn onto pine cone.
- Using the spoon, spread peanut butter onto pine cone, pushing it into the crevices.
- Pour bird seed in bowl and roll the pine cone in it until the peanut butter holds plenty of bird seed on it.
- Hang pine cone hig in a tree and watch the bird flock to a delicous bird treat!
ORANGE PEEL BIRD FEEDER You Will Need- An orange cut in half
- a hole puncher
- yarn
- bird seed
Here is What You Do: - Cut the orange in half and clean out (or eat) the inside.
- Punch 3-4 holes in the top (open ended ) part of the orange peel cup. Tie yarn in the holes for hanging.
- Fill the orange peal cup with bird seed
- Carefully hang on a tree
For a MILK CARTON bird feeder cut the top off a pint size milk carton like the ones in your school cafeteria. Punch a hole on each side for hanging. Here's a link to a bird feeder using a large milk carton: www.dfw.state.or.us/ODFWhtml/Education/BirdFeeder.html
