Kairos Prison MinistrySee if you can find Ms. Kathy's "fat picture" (40 pounds ago) on this site: www.kairos-louisiana.org/The International site is found at www.kairosprisonministry.orgIf you locate your local chapter and you don't feel comfortable about going into a prison there are things you and/your group can do: - Serve on an outside group-- They do cooking, Agape souvenir preparations, etc.
Sign prayer list--Sign up to pray during a Kairos from wherever you are--even if you're in the bathtub during a Kairos weekend.
- Bake Cookies--Bake home made cookies and place 12 tp a ziplock baggie. Then place baggies of a dozen cookies in cardboard boxes and give to your local Kairos team.
- Children's Art work--Make sure the kids' work can fit in 6X12 bags (Dimensions may vary according to locale) and make sure only first names and ages are on the work. No last names, addresses, phone numbers.
- Children's Letters and cards--Same restrictions as above.
- Placemats--Peferrably designed by children but adults can participate, too.
- Green Agape--tax deductible donations to your local Kairos Chapters
At any rate this is one of the faith based ministries that is really working in Prison facilities as wardens from all over are praising the work. There are also branches for youth facilities, Kairos Outside and Camps for kids, (GRACE Camp) designed to prevent kids from going to prsion.
